The wall on the left is sketchbooks. The entire wall. There are approximately 10,000 sketchbooks in this year's tour and mine is one of them. They come from all over. John and I looked at 4 and they were all from different parts of the country. We wanted to stay and look at more but the place was crowded with lots of people. It looked to be a very successful opening.
These books will be touring around the United States. It is one of the most amazing art exhibitions I have been to because each of these 10,000 books are their own work of art. Each one is different, each artist approached their theme in their own way. And they are amazing.
I thank Steve and Shane for coming up with this idea and realizing the importance and value of a sketchbook.
How cool! After seeing so many sketchbooks on blogs it is neat to think of them traveling around. You were lucky to be able to see the grand opening!
