Then a friend gave me a tip about Facebook pages so I looked over my Page and found that in order to make it official to the web world, I have to register it...so I did and you can now my me officially on FB as Facebook.com/ginalentosart

I will be adding info to both so check them out frequently!

More Pages - LE Snow Hill Md

Both of these pages were done from locations I visited in Snow Hill MD.  The top is from George's Landing and the island way off in the background is Assateague.

The one below is the Scott's Landing marsh and you can also see Assateague in the distance.

Some more LE pages

The top water scene was down in Sayville NY....this was one of the pages that was damaged by work done on pages after it....unfortunately, the wet washes leak through sometimes from one page to another.

Some More pages

These pages were done with watercolor and gouache....As you can see, the water scene below ran a little because of the wet pages down on pages afterward.....

The flowering dogwood branches were done as a homage to Van Gogh...I saw a painting he did of a similar subject and just had to try it...I also did a pastel painting in Snow Hill Md of the same subject, standing under someone's pink dogwood to capture the tree on location.

Sketchbook Project Limited Edition

Well....It's finally complete.  My last Sketchbook Project....I have been busy with a lot of activities since January and I am finally able to take a minute to do a blog post.

My sketchbook theme was "the secret and how to tell it."  You have no idea how I agonized over what I was going to do.  I thought of all sort of great ideas, but it came down to the simplest idea.....

The Secret is in the sketchbook...you can visit it at the Brooklyn Art Library at 103A N 3rd Street.

These are the first two spreads....

I posted all the sketches to my website, I just didn't post the secret.......you'll have to see that one for yourself......

Happy New Year 2012

Well here's my first ink blot of the year...I did this one with my Sketch group this evening...I used a dropper and Burnt Umber ink....Same process as before, I taped down the pages so they wouldn't run into other pages...then I dropped the ink with a dropper....one of my fellow artists handed some sort of scrubbie type of packaging and I used it to create the wiped effects you see on both pages....I said the blots reminded me of a tornado so I shaped this one into a tornado scene....basically just winged it like the others, right there in the kitchen.  Looks pretty cool in person....the scanned image doesn't do the other page justice, the plastic scrubby stuff made it look like it had an antiqued texture that looked so good I didn't want to do anything over it.
